About us

St Leonard's is an evangelical church.

It is one of fourteen Anglican parish churches in Exeter, Devon. This means the Church of England has given us the special responsibility for making the Christian message known to all those living within our parish.

We have close links with our local community, particularly through our church school, St Leonard's Primary School, our church preschool (in the Church Hall on Roberts Road), and through our many members who live in the parish. We also welcome many from other parts of city and outside.



OUR MESSAGE

Written on a banner across the east end of St Leonard's is the statement JESUS IS LORD. Christians here believe that Jesus, now risen and ascended, is in charge of the whole world and everyone in it. We can only find real life, the life God wants for us, when we live in relationship with him. The four gospels in the New Testament of the Bible tell us that Jesus came to do all that was necessary for any of us to enjoy the real, eternal life he offers.

At St Leonard's we are a growing community of people, of all ages and backgrounds, who have found this to be true in our own experience. Our aim (though we are far from perfect!) is to help one another live effectively in the way Christ wants us to. It is also our aim to pass the message about Christ to others, as best we can. We have a special welcome in our services and meetings for those who are not yet Christians.
