Exeter Street Pastors is recruiting Street Pastors again!

For those who don't know who I am, I'm the administrator of Exeter Street Pastors. Rev. Aran Richardson is the coordinator of Exeter Street Pastors. Wonderful people from churches all over Exeter are members of the management and pastoral teams and Street Pastors.

We're asking anyone interested in becoming a Street Pastor to submit an application by December 15th. We hope to commence our second wave of training in March 2010 and deploy our second batch of Street Pastors in June 2010.

Exeter Street Pastors held a launch at Exeter Cathedral and started training our first batch of Street Pastors in March 2009. They were commissioned and deployed in June. They've been working in the city centre every Saturday night during the summer and autumn. The growth we've witnessed in the ministry this year has been fantastic - and as we've sought to bless the people of our city, God has blessed the ministry and everyone involved in it beyond measure. Next year, we hope to release Street Pastors to work on Friday nights as well as Saturday nights and increase the blessing of Street Pastors to Exeter.

This is an exciting time to get involved in Exeter Street Pastors!

For those of you who might be unfamiliar with the ministry (or want to know more details so you can tell friends), you can find out more about Street Pastors nationally here and I'm attaching a leaflet about Exeter Street Pastors.

Exeter Street Pastors welcome Christians from all denominations - so far, the team comprises 46 people from 16 local churches. We have been blessed with unity and wonderful, warm relationships within the team. We look forward to welcoming new people into our team!

We welcome men and women. Men are excellent father-figures and role-models for the kids on the street (and are needed as such - they have the privilege of interacting with kids who don't know their fathers and don't know what godly manhood looks like) and women are wonderful "mums" (with a smile, a hug, a shoulder to cry on, a bit of good advice or, even, a little bit of a telling-off at the ready!) to everyone from under-age clubbers to war-hardened marines! Younger (18-40) people have a lot of down-to-earth compassion to offer their peers on the streets. We welcome people of all ages and varied backgrounds - we have Street Pastors as young as 21 and as old as 60-Something, encompassing almost every imaginable background.

If you would like to know more about Exeter Street Pastors for yourself or a friend, please hit reply and let me know - I'll send you an application form and a confidential declaration form and you'll be on your way to being a Street Pastor.

If you would like a representative of Exeter Street Pastors to speak about the ministry to anyone - from a group of friends to a Bible study or prayer group to a church - please contact our PR Rep, Basil Parkes:  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. I'll look forward to hearing from you soon if there's any way I can help you go from here!

Every blessing in Christ,
Judith
